Director for North America Operations
Paul Levine has held leadership roles in many standards bodies and information/communications industry forums with the objective of converging standardization initiatives to common approaches for B2B interoperability. Through these efforts a UML-based business collaboration and information modeling methodology emerged as a common thread among ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 32, ITU-T, ATIS TMOC, the TeleManagement Forum and UN/CEFACT. This business collaboration modeling approach is seen as the underlying structure required for standardized information exchange. As an information/communications industry leader, Telcordia Technologies supported Mr. Levine in influential positions he held in the above named standards bodies and industry forums. He contributed a chapter on eCommerce in Managing IP Networks Challenges and Opportunities, published by IEEE Press in 2003. In 2007 he received the ATIS Award for Distinguished Service in Communications Standards, awarded annually for critical contribution to ICT solutions development in support of ATIS’ strategic initiatives.
Mr. Levine enjoyed a 40-year career with Bell Laboratories, Bell Communications Research, and Telcordia Technologies, in various positions dealing with design and administration of shared information. Most recently he held the position of Standards Development Director, COMMON LANGUAGE Products, the Telcordia business unit that provides a data administration service that is essential for operability within and interoperability among telecommunications service providers. Mr. Levine holds BME and MSME degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY.
