Simpl-eBiz™

What is it?

Electronic Commerce is now a mandatory technology for companies wanting to be competitive in today's environment. Electronic Commerce reduces operating costs, improves quality and shortens turn-around times. Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is a set of standards for business documents (e.g. purchase orders, invoices) used by companies in many industries that has evolved over the last 25 years. EDI is a mature, proven, core technology enabling Electronic Commerce. Integrating EDI into existing business systems is a challenging, yet critical, requirement for achieving the potential of Electronic Commerce.

ebXML (Electronic Business using eXtensible Markup Language), is a modular suite of specifications that enables businesses of any size and in any geographical location to conduct Electronic Commerce over the Internet. Using ebXML, companies now have a standard method to exchange business messages, conduct trading relationships, communicate data in common terms and define and register business processes.

Simpl-eBiz™ provides small businesses with an EDI and/or ebXML solution to exchange documents with it large corporate customers with out having to map between their "Commercial-of the shelf" (COTS) application and its associated database formats and the formats specified by the eBusiness Standards (as defined by their trading partners). Simpl-eBiz™ also provides support for the management of EDI and/or XML messages and files.

Simpl-eBiz™ has a flexible architecture that allows it to be sold in a number of configurations to meet different small business users requirements. It uses a modular approach to fit very small (single trading partner), small (2 or more trading partners), and mid-sized (2 or more trading partners with a number of internal COTS and changing eBusiness requirements) businesses.
